Since its release, Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been a hit, and its latest box office feat means it has surpassed Star Wars: The Force Awakens (domestically).
Sony announced (via ScreenRant) that Brand New Day has grossed $937.77 million domestically to date. That means it has finally surpassed The Force Awakens, which grossed $936.66 million during its theatrical run, as the highest-grossing movie of all time at the domestic box office.
It is also the highest-grossing MCU movie at the domestic box office. Two of the other top five highest-grossing movies at the domestic box office are Avengers: Endgame ($858.4 million) and Spider-Man: No Way Home ($814.9 million).
Brand New Day is the highest-grossing movie of the year, outgrossing The Odyssey ($1,686,587,560). It still has quite a way to go if it hopes to catch Avatar or Endgame as the highest-grossing movie at the worldwide box office. The former has made $2.9 billion while the latter has made almost $2.8 billion worldwide.

Brand New Day's box office success is huge for Holland. He will reportedly make over $100 million for his fourth solo Marvel movie.
Reports stated that his base salary was âÂÂat leastâ $20 million, an increase of over $10 million from his last movie, and he will also make money off backend box office bonuses. His backend bonus isn't capped, and given Brand New Day's box office success, he could make over $100 million in bonuses.
Audiences showed up in droves to see Brand New Day. It had been over four years since Holland's last Spider-Man movie, No Way Home. Clearly, they were ready to see Holland swing into action once again.
It's unknown if Marvel and Sony will make audiences wait almost five years for the inevitable fifth Spider-Man movie. Either way, expect it to be a hit as well.
