Texas star left tackle Trevor Goosby will miss the rest of the season after suffering a knee injury in the Longhorns' 34-27 win over Ole Miss, sources told ESPN's Pete Thamel on Sunday.
The 6-foot-7, 325-pound senior injured his left knee in the first quarter Saturday against the Rebels and was carted off the field. Senior backup Andre Cojoe replaced him for the remainder of the game.
Goosby is expected to be one of the top offensive tackle prospects in the 2027 NFL draft and was the No. 8 pick in the latest mock draft by ESPN's Field Yates. The Melissa, Texas, native has started 22 games over the past three seasons for the Longhorns, and he earned first-team All-SEC honors from the league's coaches in 2025.
He previously suffered a bone bruise in his left knee midway through preseason camp in August but managed to return and start Texas' first seven games.
Texas wide receiver Cam Coleman also exited the win over Ole Miss with an apparent shoulder injury. The top-ranked transfer from Auburn has 348 receiving yards and six touchdowns on 21 receptions this season.
The Longhorns already were playing without pass rusher Colin Simmons and running back Hollywood Smothers. Simmons leads the FBS with 10.5 sacks this season.
Texas climbed to No. 11 in the AP Top 25 on Sunday following its second victory over a top-10 opponent. It will host Mississippi State on Saturday (7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN).
