MINNEAPOLIS — Prior to their game tonight against the Timberwolves, Raptors head coach Darko Rajaković praised the new-look roster and the unique duo of guards Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball.

“Great young duo, very talented players capable to score in so many different ways,” said the fourth-year Raptors head coach from Serbia. “It's a great challenge. That's the beauty of the NBA, when you get an opportunity to play against the best of the best, and you get a chance to see such a dynamic duo like those two.”

Rajaković is certainly not the first person to notice the success that the duo has had through their first two games. Edwards and Ball have lit the NBA media circuit on fire, combining to score 93 points while racking up 18 3-point field goals made in that span.

While noting the success of the duo, Rajaković also was sure to note that the roster built to surround them has aided them greatly, and has allowed them to flourish.

“It's not just those two,” he said. “It's a very talented team, with a lot of individuals that can contribute. Great shooters, very diverse defensive players. They're a really, really good team.”

The Timberwolves and Raptors, both sporting records of 2-0, are set to battle tonight at Target Center in what is Minnesota’s home opener, after playing the first two games of their season on the road.

“It's always tough to start the season on the road, and particularly when you got to play two games on the road,” said Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch. “But I know a lot of people have come up to me in town and they're excited to watch this team play in person. So I think for our guys, this is the perfect event for us right now.”

Toronto will be without their top offseason acquisition Kawhi Leonard, as the club ruled him out due to knee swelling.
