The Minnesota Vikings came out of the NFL's Week 1 with an impressive victory over the Green Bay Packers. Vikings linebacker Dallas Turner was a menace to Green Bay quarterback Jordan Love. New video from the X account Football Performances shows how effective Turner was at creating pressure.
Turner forced Love to scramble at several moments throughout the game. Minnesota would come away with a 39-22 win over the Packers.
Several news outlets and NFL insiders made note of how good Turner looked in Week 1.
âÂÂBesides his strong start against the Packers, the stars may be aligning everywhere for Turner for a potential DPOY push. Reigning winner Myles Garrett will miss at least four games with a knee injury, opening the door to what will likely be another edge rusher to take home the hardware. The Vikings will presumably have a strong team defense once again, and a 15-to-16 sack campaign from Turner would certainly merit some consideration,â Sports Illustrated reported.
Against the Packers, Turner posted two total tackles, a sack and a forced fumble. His impact was immeasurable for a Vikings team looking to win the NFC North this season.
Some believe Turner even has a chance to win the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year Award.
âÂÂHe's been a popular breakout candidate, and at just 23 years old, his ceiling may still be far above him,â Sports Illustrated added.
Against Green Bay, the Vikings allowed just 66 rushing yards. There is room for improvement though with the Minnesota defense; the Vikings allowed 353 passing yards.
Minnesota plays another NFC North rival in Week 2 of the 2026 season. The Vikings are in action Sunday against the Chicago Bears.
