The Seattle Seahawks ended the Kansas City Chiefs' unbeaten season in what is easily their biggest win in their title defense to date. Their defense stepped up in a big way, shutting down Patrick Mahomes, Kenneth Walker III and the Chiefs offense in a 20-3 blowout win on Sunday Night Football.

Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald expressed pride at his team's performance amid some early-season adversity and is hoping this win can be a launching pad for their season.

“There's a sense of urgency now to take another step as a football team,” Macdonald said post-game.

The much-hyped revenge game featuring Walker III, who left Seattle this offseason, turned into a one-sided affair in favor of the Seahawks. They limited the reigning Super Bowl MVP to by far his least productive rushing game of the season with just 36 yards on 14 carries. Patrick Mahomes was also held to his lowest passing output of the season with only 165 yards. He also went without a touchdown pass for the second straight game.

As for the Seahawks offense, quarterback Sam Darnold had a solid performance. He completed a season-best 71 percent of his passes for 257 yards and a touchdown with one interception. Wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba played his part in helping Darnold with nine catches for 150 yards and a score. He also made some history with his amazing start to the season.

Despite being 4-3, this is the type of all-around performance the Seahawks are capable of, which still makes them a dangerous team. But another big test is coming up for them as they host the 5-2 Chicago Bears next week on Monday night.
