S Meghana has retired from all formats of cricket at the age of 30. The top-order batter, who played the last of her 20 matches for India in October 2022, was last in action in the 2025 season of the WPL.
"As I announce my retirement from all formats of cricket as a player, my heart is overflowing with gratitude," she wrote in a social-media post. "The field has been my second home, teaching me resilience, humility, and giving me memories and friendships that I will carry for a lifetime."
Meghana, the Andhra Pradesh cricketer, made her international debut in a T20I against West Indies in Vijayawada in November 2016 and scored 17 off 16 balls in a 31-run defeat. The ODI debut came much later, in February 2022, against New Zealand in Queenstown, where she scored 4 off 14 balls. But she was in her element in the next two games of the series, scoring 49 off 50 balls and 61 off 41 balls.
However, the three ODIs she played on that tour remained her only appearances in that format, in which she aggregated 114 runs.
In 17 T20Is, she scored 258 runs at a strike rate of 102.78 with one half-century.
"While my cricket days come to an end, my bond with cricket will never break," she wrote. "I will always stay deeply connected to the game and intend to dedicate my life to giving back to the sport, mentoring the next generation, and serving the game that gave me everything."
Meghana played three seasons of the Women's Premier League, first for Gujarat Giants and then for two years with Royal Challengers Bengaluru and was part of the team's title-winning squad in 2024.
