Ryan Garcia revelled in showing off his war wounds after retaining his WBC welterweight title - but his injury didn't come against Conor Benn.
The 28-year-old has declared he engaged in a street fight just one day after his emphatic second round win over his British challenger.
Garcia dropped Benn just a minute into the second stanza in Las Vegas, before pinning him against the ropes - leading to veteran referee Tom Taylor to jump in and stop the contest.
In the immediate aftermath of his successful first title defence, The Flash declared he is seeking a unification scrap against WBA king Teofimo Lopez.
But it took less than 24 hours for the American star to record another knockout win - this time in a bare-knuckle dust-up.
The California native made the revelation on the latest episode of the Ariel Helwani Show, where he disclosed he even suffered an injury.
What injury did Ryan Garcia sustain?
Garcia has stated he suffered cuts to his right hand - the same hand that saw Benn sprawled on the canvas for the first time since his points win over Cedrick Peynaud in November 2020.
Featuring on the show via a video call, Helwani asked whether he had suffered any issues from his victory over the British banger.
To which a proud Garcia quipped: "Not at all, I hurt my hand more-so fighting somebody on Sunday night."
It was at that point where Garcia showed the camera his bruised right knuckles, which looked bright red.
He continued: "The homie wanted that work, I still had energy so I said, 'LetâÂÂs get it.
âÂÂWe just started brawling in the room.
"We spoke late and he wanted that work so I gave it to him, bare-knuckle."
Garcia then proceeded to say his friend is not a professional fighter, but conceded, 'He wanted the smoke though'.
Through laughter, Garcia then revealed that he once again came out on top, as he simply stated: "Who won?
"Come on now, don't ask that question. Easy work."
Regarding the injuries he sustained to his hand, Garcia commented: "A couple of scratches, but it's all good."
Who could Ryan Garcia fight next?
Despite calling out Lopez following his win over Benn, a host of high-profile names remain on Garcia's radar.
Gervonta Davis has already raised the possibility of a rematch having inflicted a first professional defeat on Garcia in April 2023.
Three-weight world champion Davis blasted out Garcia with a brutal body shot in the seventh round.
A rematch with Devin Haney also remains in the offing following their April 2024 scrap, which saw the WBO welterweight champion dropped three times.
Garcia, who missed weight and was unable to fight for Haney's then-WBC strap, won that battle, but the bout was later ruled a no-contest after he failed two pre-fight drug tests.
Instead of jumping straight into a unification clash, Garcia could also decide to take part in a warm-up fight in December or January, with Isaac Cruz and Angel Fierro two possible opponents.
