“I think everybody was angry, uh, early in the week, but at, at some point you gotta move on. And, but all we can do is focus on, like right now, not worried about what's coming down the road. We all can say, yeah, you know, we got a lot of football ahead of us, which we do, but really, like, that's not the most important thing. The most important thing is what we do today. And so, that's really been the focus. We gotta come out and play with really good energy today.”

Pivoting to this afternoon's matchup against Kent State, Day spoke about what he wants to see from his team

“Well, [I] wanna find a high level of execution in all three phases, with a lot of detail, focusing on the things that we made a point of emphasis in terms of areas that we gotta improve on. This is a different team than we had last year…we have a different coordinator on offense, different personnel on defense…So tweaking those things to make sure as coaches we're putting everybody in the right position to be successful. But then the guys coming out and playing with a lot of detail, really good fundamentals, really kind of back to basics, as you can imagine after a game like that.”
