Yandy Diaz and the Tampa Bay Rays are headed to the World Series, and he can't seem to stop dropping the mic.
A day after he guaranteed that the Rays would get the job done in the American League Championship Series by beating the Cleveland Guardians in Game 6, Diaz came up with another great quote to sum up Tampa Bay's series-clinching win on Monday at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg.
“A lot of people didn't believe me, but here are the results,” Diaz told Melanie Newman of the MLB Network via a translator.
Diaz was also asked for his prediction for the upcoming 2026 World Series showdown against the Milwaukee Brewers.
“It's going to be a great World Series, but we're winning,” Diaz said before running away from the interview to join his team's celebration on the field.

Diaz also backed up his talk with his work at the plate in Game 6 of the Guardians series. His two-run home run in the eighth inning extended Tampa Bay's lead to four runs and deflated Cleveland's spirits, as the Rays return to the Fall Classic for the first time since 2020.
That year, they lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series in six games. Diaz was already a member of Tampa Bay that time, and he hit 4-for-12 with two walks in five games against the Dodgers.
Diaz and the Rays will continue their celebration after winning the AL title, but the job isn't finished yet for Tampa Bay, with the powerful Brewers looming on the horizon.
