The Tampa Bay Rays are through to the ALCS for the first time since 2020 after sweeping the New York Yankees on Wednesday. The Rays defeated the Yankees, 4-3, in Game 3 of the ALDS, much to the dejection of Yankee Stadium.
The Rays made light work of the Yankees in the best-of-five series and are now waiting for the winner between the Cleveland Guardians and the Chicago White Sox.
In the postgame interview, Junior Caminero made a bold claim, sending a stern warning to the remaining teams, while also rubbing it in on the Yankees.
“We're feeling great. The best team in the world right here,” said Casimero.
“We play every single game, inning by inning, pitch by pitch. We got the support of all these guys here. We played really good baseball. We're not yet done. Now, the Yankees lose. Yankees lose!”

Caminero's crucial single in the sixth inning set the stage for Victor Mesa Jr.'s two-run home run that gave the Rays the lead, which they did not relinquish.
Mesa used Caminero's bat, and the 23-year-old third baseman felt extra proud during the dugout celebration.
“That’s my bat right there. If he doesn't use it, he doesn't homer,” said the two-time All-Star, as quoted by MLB.com's Jared Greenspan.
Caminero made a confident gesture in Game 2, which proved to be ominous. They remain on track in their quest to capture their first title.
Game 1 of the ALCS is on Sunday
