As the Baltimore Ravens injury concerns continue to pile up at the quarterback position, with Lamar Jackson's 2026 season likely over after suffering a brutal hand injury in Week 8 and Tyler Huntley potentially sidelined with turf toe, general manager Eric DeCosta has added a new option behind Joe Fagnano before a Week 9 showdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday Night Football: Austin Reed.

Taking to social media to announce the practice squad signing, The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec reminded fans that Reed has plenty of experience in Declan Doyle's system and should be able to fill the QB2 role if need be on Thursday night.

“The Ravens signed QB Austin Reed to their practice squad,” Zrebiec wrote. “He was with them for part of the preseason/training camp and also was OC Declan Doyle in Chicago in 2025. As long as Joe Fagnano is good enough to go, Reed could be the Ravens' No. 2 Thursday.”
