The Baltimore Ravens are adding reinforcements to their wide receiver room as injuries continue to create uncertainty heading into Week 3. Baltimore announced Tuesday that it signed former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Shedrick Jackson to the practice squad. That gives the offense another option after a difficult stretch for its pass catchers. The move comes with Zay Flowers still dealing with a hamstring injury that kept him out of Sunday’s loss to the New Orleans Saints. Flowers suffered the issue after exploding for 150 yards in Baltimore’s season opener. Meanwhile, Ja’Kobi Lane sustained a fractured wrist that required surgery and landed him on injured reserve.
Baltimore previously elevated veteran Chris Moore to the active roster. That created a practice-squad opening that Jackson now fills. The 6-foot-1 Auburn product also brings AFC North familiarity after beginning his NFL career with the Cincinnati Bengals. He spent the past two seasons with the Raiders. That's where he contributed on offense and special teams. With Flowers’ status still day-to-day, Jackson provides additional depth should Baltimore need another receiver for its Week 3 matchup.
Flowers has become a central piece of Baltimore’s offense since the Ravens selected him 22nd overall in 2023. He set franchise marks with 77 receptions for 858 yards in his first season. He then surpassed 1,000 yards in 2024 and produced a career-best 86 catches for 1,211 yards in 2025. The explosive receiver signed a four-year, $140 million extension this offseason. That included $108 million guaranteed. He opened 2026 with 150 yards and a touchdown, underscoring just how important his availability is to Lamar Jackson and Baltimore’s offense. For now, the Ravens are preparing for every possibility.
