The Baltimore Ravens have completed their trade for Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett, the teams announced Friday.

The Ravens will acquire Brissett and a 2027 fifth-round pick for a fourth-round pick in 2027 and seventh-round pick in 2028, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The teams were finalizing a trade to send Brissett to Baltimore ahead of the Ravens' 33-10 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday. The Ravens were in need of a quarterback after losing starter Lamar Jackson to a potentially season-ending thumb injury that will require surgery and backup Tyler "Snoop" Huntley to a turf toe injury.

Sources had told Schefter and Rapoport on Wednesday that Huntley will miss the rest of the season.

In the interim, undrafted rookie Joe Fagnano started for the Ravens on Thursday, going 10-for-18 for 60 yards with two interceptions in the loss to the Jaguars. Baltimore (4-5) was held under 14 points for a fourth straight game, breaking a team record in futility. The Ravens also have lost by 20 or more points in three straight games for the first time in their 31-year history.

Brissett had been benched this week by the Cardinals, who named Gardner Minshew II as their starting quarterback moving forward. Rookie Carson Beck was named the backup with Brissett as the third-stringer.

Going back to Week 6 of the 2025 season, Brissett had started the past 20 games for the Cardinals before he was benched late in the third quarter of Sunday's 33-30 overtime victory over the Dallas Cowboys. Brissett asked for a trade Monday when coach Mike LaFleur called to tell him about the shake-up in the quarterbacks room, a source told ESPN.

Over the past 20 games, Brissett ranked No. 1 in dropbacks, completions and attempts, third in passing first downs, fourth in completion percentage over expected, fifth in passing yards, and seventh in passing yards and broken sacks. He was sacked 62 times over that stretch, which is tied for the most in the NFL.

Before the looming trade to Baltimore, the Cardinals restructured Brissett's contract, converting $2.7 million of his remaining $5.4 million salary into a signing bonus, according to ESPN's Field Yates. The Ravens will owe Brissett a base salary of $2.43 million, and there are incentives in his deal to make additional money.

Brissett will reunite with Ravens quarterbacks coach Israel Woolfork, who held the same position last season with Brissett in Arizona. The two also worked together in 2022 with the Cleveland Browns.

Baltimore placed Jackson on injured reserve before Thursday's game. He will miss at least three more games, but the Ravens have not given a definitive timetable on him.

Asked after the game whether Jackson had surgery on his hand and whether he has a chance of returning this season, coach Jesse Minter replied, "I'm not going to speak on that."
