Kawhi Leonard was missing in action on Sunday, as the Toronto Raptors lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves, 117-94, at Target Center. The Raptors fell to 2-1, while the Timberwolves improved to 3-0.

Leonard was added to the injury report just an hour before tip-off. Toronto announced that the veteran forward was dealing with swelling in his left knee.

He played 28 minutes in the Raptors' win against the Washington Wizards on Friday, tallying 16 points on 7-of-20 shooting, nine rebounds, and three steals.

According to Yahoo! Canada's Vivek Jacob, the 35-year-old Leonard will seek medical evaluation.

“Darko Rajakovic says that Kawhi Leonard will undergo further testing for his left knee, and there will be an update after that. (His) status for Wednesday against the Orlando Magic is currently up in the air,” reported Jacob on X.

The two-time Finals MVP is hoping to stay healthy after appearing in 65 games last season.

He is also bullish on his much-needed reset with the Raptors after his controversy-filled departure from the Los Angeles Clippers.

Leonard's injury history is quite concerning, and the latest update is not exactly encouraging. But it is also likely that the Raptors are just being extra cautious with him.

Ja'Kobe Walter replaced Leonard in the starting unit against Minnesota. He had 22 points, including 5-of-8 shooting from long distance, four rebounds, and two assists.

RJ Barrett added 20 points and three steals, while Immanuel Quickley had 19 points and three rebounds. Scottie Barnes went scoreless on 0-of-12 shooting from the field. He had three assists and four steals.
