The Los Angeles Rams have been arguably the NFL's biggest disappointment to open up the season, currently sitting at 2-4 after a recent disastrous home loss to the Arizona Cardinals. The Rams have been plagued by injuries so far this year, with Myles Garrett only having played in one game, and Davante Adams recently going down with an issue of his own.
Now, things have gone from bad to worse on that front with the latest update.
“Rams placed DE Kobie Turner on injured reserve,” reported NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN on X, formerly Twitter.
It's certainly not an ideal update for a Rams team that is already growing thin on the defensive line, with Garrett out and former superstar Aaron Donald's production heavily limited as he works his way back into the fold following his two-year retirement.
Overall, it's hard to imagine things having gone much worse for the Rams to open up this season, as quarterback Matthew Stafford has appeared to regress heavily from his MVP heights of a year ago, Puka Nacua has dealt with injury concerns, and now Adams is out, and that's just on the offensive side of the ball.
Article Continues BelowWhile getting Garrett back at some point will almost assuredly help the Rams' defense turn a corner, the team still needs to find a way to stay afloat until that point, or else they could be out of the playoff race altogether by the time that occurs. It certainly doesn't help that Los Angeles plays in the NFC West, which features the undefeated San Francisco 49ers and the reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks.
The Rams will next hit the field on Sunday for a road game vs the Las Vegas Raiders.
