An encouraging development has emerged for Las Vegas Raiders second-year wide receiver Jack Bech. On Monday, the team designated the 23-year-old to return from injured reserve, opening a 21-day window for him to resume practicing and potentially rejoin the active roster.

Bech has been out since breaking his forearm during Las Vegas' Week 3 win over the New Orleans Saints. The injury interrupted his season after just three games, during which he recorded five receptions for 48 yards and one touchdown on six targets.

The Raiders now have three weeks to evaluate Bech before deciding whether to restore him to the 53-man roster. His return to practice also puts him in contention to play against the New York Jets on Sunday, although that possibility depends on his readiness. If Las Vegas does not activate him within the designated period, he will remain unavailable for at least another week.

Selected in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft, Bech accumulated 20 catches for 224 yards during his rookie campaign. He finished eighth among Raiders players in targets that season.

Before landing on injured reserve, Bech had been operating as Las Vegas' third wide receiver behind Tre Tucker and Jalen Nailor. His eventual return could affect the distribution of targets among Las Vegas' receivers, particularly given Tucker's recent production, who has produced 10 receptions for 200 yards and three touchdowns on 19 targets over the past two weeks. However, tight end Brock Bowers remains an integral part of the passing attack, and Bech may initially occupy a supporting role.

The Raiders also faces a decision concerning fellow second-year wideout Dont'e Thornton, who has practiced for three weeks without being activated. Head coach Klint Kubiak attributed the situation largely to conditioning after Thornton missed training camp. The team must decide by Wednesday whether to activate him, otherwise, his season will end. Thornton had 10 catches for 135 yards as a rookie in 2025.
