The Chicago Blackhawks reunited with star Patrick Kane this NHL season. Kane is making a humorous statement about returning to the United Center to play his first game back in Chicago.

“I actually may go over there today and look at the locker room and the entrance to the ice and that stuff,” Kane said with a laugh, per NHL.com. “I don’t even know where I’m sitting (in the locker room).”

Kane was on three Blackhawks teams that won Stanley Cup championships. He left the franchise in a trade to play with the New York Rangers. Kane also skated with the Detroit Red Wings.

Kane is now back in Chicago, hoping to lead the club to glory this NHL season.

“It’ll be interesting to be playing a home game now after all this time, you know, coming back here a couple of times with Detroit and not playing here at home in the preseason,” Kane said. “It’s been a while, so looking forward to being on the home side at the United Center, hopefully get a win tomorrow and make everything that much sweeter.”

Kane is one of the most experienced players in the entire NHL. In his career, he has posted 1,401 career points. His Blackhawks coaches are very excited to see him on the ice.

“It'll be pretty awesome,” Blackhawks coach Jeff Blashill said. “Obviously with what Patrick has been for this organization, what's he's been a part of, the run that that group has been on, and he was obviously a huge, huge piece of it, and for him to come back, for him still be a really good player and have the chance to wear the Blackhawks uniform again, it's a special thing.”

Chicago's home opener is Tuesday against the St. Louis Blues. The Blackhawks are 0-3 this season.
