The Carolina Panthers beat the visiting Detroit Lions 32-26 in a game that showed there are still new levels for the duo of Bryce Young and Tetairoa McMillan to reach. McMillan set a new career-high that had Young gushing about him after the game.
Young believes that he and McMillan's hard work is starting to pay off in many different ways, as shared in comments from NFL on ESPN.
“We need someone like that, I trust four so much…You practice enough, you're not gonna get every route, but I know the player he is, he's special.”

Young looked the precision passer the Panthers drafted him to be out of Alabama as he threaded pinpoint passes time and time again.
Chubba Hubbard helped to flank Young and McMillan against an outclassed Lions defense, gaining praise from coach Dave Canales after the game. Hubbard and the Panthers' running game overcame the loss of a prized former first round pick and productive wideout Jalen Coker as it helped to keep Jared Goff and the Lions from getting into a rhythm and taking over the game.
When the smoke cleared, both teams were 2-2 on the season and the Young-to-McMillan combination started to look like one of the NFL's best. Young and his new favorite target now have a week off before heading to Philadelphia on October 18 to take on the Eagles. The Panthers have a long way to go before they can be labeled a Super Bowl contender, but Young and McMillan look like they will at least make things interesting in the NFL South this season.
