The Carolina Panthers suffered a 27-19 defeat against the Green Bay Packers on Thursday Night Football. Panthers quarterback Bryce Young had a rough night, getting sacked six times and throwing an interception to the Green Bay defense.
Panthers coach Dave Canales believed Young's knee, which he hurt in Week 3, has affected his quarterback's performance. However, Young was quick to brush it aside when asked about the status of his knee post-game.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” Young said per the team’s official website. “Everyone’s dealing with something at this point in the year. It’s football. Nothing like that is an excuse; go out there and play the game. I’m blessed to be able to do that. That’s all that matters.”

With their Thursday night performance, the Packers now lead the NFL with 22 sacks. Moreover, that Packers pass rush also went up against a Panthers offensive line that was missing some key pieces in right tackle Taylor Moton and left guard Damien Lewis.
Young's reduced mobility, the Packers' fierce pass rush, and the Panthers' patchwork O-line all played in part in Young's subpar outing on Thursday night. However, with the Panthers set to take on another tough pass rush in the Broncos (21 sacks) in Week 9, those other factors will need to improve somehow if they are to snap their two-game losing streak at home against Denver.
