Not only did Green Bay Packers receiver Christian Watson roast the Bears on the field, he roasted off the field. But head coach Matt LaFleur pumped the brakes on the hype train. And then Watson got real about the trash talk with the Bears in the heated rivalry game, according to a post on X by Fox Sports NFL.
“There was definitely some extra juice,” Watson said. “It’s hard to block out all the noise. Sometimes something sneaks past. Obviously, that gets kind of going around the locker room. And it just brings the energy and the vibes up. You gotta have some smack talk every now and then. We talked our talk, and then we walked the walk, too.”
The Packers brutalized the Bears to the tune of 31-7 on Sunday. They took Bears head coach Ben Johnson down a notch or two.
Packers WR Christian Watson cut loose for big game
Watson caught six passes for 143 yards. Included in the mix were 42-yard and 53-yard touchdown catches. He said the Packers knew going into the game they could make things happen, according to ESPN.
“We watched the film,” Watson said. “We saw the opportunities there, regardless of how good they were in other games against certain teams. We knew what was going to be there and took advantage of it today.”
Watson said the Packers are tough to defend, according to The Athletic.
“It’s hard to stop two guys who can run all the routes and stretch the field like that,” Watson said. “If you try to, it’s going to give us other opportunities elsewhere.”

“I feel like with me and Christian, we can get really anywhere, underneath, over the top. It’s a lot of things we can do with speed. It’s hard to really cover it,” Golden said. “Me and Christian got a lot of confidence in each other, man. We push each other each and every day. We in competition. That’s how we treat it.
“He came out there and did exactly what I knew he was gonna do, and I know he would say the same about me. So I appreciate him, man, because he pushes me each and every day, and I’m just grateful to be in a room with a guy like that.”
