Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton reaffirmed Tuesday that his relationship with Mike Macdonald is settled after a viral clip revisited their dispute over training-camp footage.

The Broncos previously addressed the controversy in September. They now host Macdonald’s Seattle Seahawks on Thursday Night Football, with both teams entering the Week 6 matchup at 3-2.

DNVR Sports’ Zac Stevens took to X, formerly Twitter to share Payton’s latest comments on the matter.

“But Mike and I visited, and yeah, that that so many other things on your radar. Right. You know that he was getting ready to play game. We were getting ready to play a game, and yeah, it's all good.”

The dispute traces back to the 2024 season opener. Before that game, Seattle’s staff reviewed roughly 100 Broncos training-camp plays that fans had posted on social media.

Macdonald revisited the episode during an interview with Graham Bensinger that went viral in September. He said Payton contacted Seahawks general manager John Schneider with concerns about how Seattle got the footage.

According to the Seahawks head coach, Payton threatened to publicly accuse the Seahawks of cheating, and Seattle countered by threatening legal action. Macdonald insisted his staff only used publicly available videos and never broke any NFL rules.

The standoff stayed behind closed doors, and both sides eventually backed off before anything went public. Seattle went on to win that opener 26-20 in Macdonald’s head-coaching debut.

Once the clip made the rounds, Macdonald admitted he never meant for those comments to reach the public and apologized to Payton. The Broncos coach accepted the apology in September and explained that Denver changed its training-camp video policies after reviewing what fans had shared.

Payton’s latest comments suggest the two coaches have moved on for good. Neither side seems eager to turn Thursday into a grudge match.

Thursday’s Broncos-Seahawks matchup at Empower Field at Mile High marks the teams’ first meeting since the 2024 opener, with Payton reaffirming that the matter remains resolved.
