The Baltimore Orioles have been making changes both at the top and on the field. Their assistant GM, Sig Mejdal, left the analytics department, and now, on the field, they are switching things up before the playoffs.

On Saturday, the team announced a series of roster moves. They reinstated right-handed pitcher Felix Bautista from the 60-day injured list. Bautista was recently out with a shoulder injury.

Meanwhile, the Orioles brought back outfielder Christian Franklin from the 10-day injured list after battling hand inflammation. They also optioned outfielder Heston Kjerstad and left-handed pitcher Cade Povich to Triple-A Norfolk after Friday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Then, Baltimore moved outfielder Tyler O'Neill to the 60-day injured list because of right shoulder inflammation.

Meanwhile, the Orioles are trying their darndest to secure a playoff spot in a crowded American League Wild Card race. They are 6th in the American League Wild Card standings. Their division rivals, the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox, are top two, with the Yankees clinching a playoff berth.

The Yankees are also favored to win the Wild Card at this point.

The Orioles are 75-79 and last in the American League East Division. They have a shot, but it will be difficult. They're on the verge of closing out a series with the Brewers, one of the best teams in the league.

Then, after another homestand with the Toronto Blue Jays, they close out the season on the road with the Yankees. In all, it will be a trying time with eight games left on the schedule.
