Ole Miss wide receiver Deuce Alexander has already given LSU plenty of bulletin-board material ahead of Saturday's highly anticipated matchup in Oxford.

Speaking with reporters on Tuesday, Alexander made a bold statement when asked about the Tigers' secondary:

“Just get ready. It's going to be a bloodbath.”

LSU quickly turned the comment into motivation, placing Alexander's quote on the video boards inside its team facility less than 24 hours later.

Alexander's confidence comes despite his recognition of the strength of the Tigers defensive backs. LSU has surrendered the 12th-fewest passing yards in the nation through the opening portion of the season.

The Rebels receiver has been one of the team's leading offensive contributors this season. Alexander currently leads the team with 13 receptions for 235 receiving yards. He also recorded two lengthy touchdown receptions during Ole Miss' season-opening win over ranked Louisville.

The matchup draws extra attention because Tigers head coach Lane Kiffin will face his former program for the first time since leaving the Rebels last November. Kiffin spent six seasons with Ole Miss, including coaching Alexander in 2025.

Despite the circumstances surrounding Kiffin's departure, Alexander kept his comments about the former Rebels coach measured. He acknowledged that the matchup had been circled on the calendar but described it as another opportunity to go 1-0.

Both LSU and Ole Miss enters the matchup ranked inside the AP Top 10 and undefeated to begin the season. The game also has SEC and College Football Playoff implications, with a victory potentially serving as a major resume-building result.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday in Oxford, where Kiffin is expected to face a hostile environment during his return to his former team.
