The Ohio State Buckeyes are set to play their first full game without injured quarterback Julian Sayin. Buckeyes head coach Ryan Day had been mum on naming a starter for this weekend's game against USC. However, it seems he has already made a decision.
Per Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports, true freshman Luke Fahey is expected to get the start over sophomore Tavien St. Clair.
Sayin suffered a shoulder injury in Ohio State's 19-15 win over Indiana and is expected to miss several weeks. Fahey came in for Sayin and went 0-for-2 in his two pass attempts.
With the inexperienced Fahey starting, Ohio State will likely lean heavily on the running game to help ease the pressure on their young quarterback. Bo Jackson is the team's leading rusher this season with 516 yards. However, he struggled to get going against the Hoosiers as he was limited to only 56 yards on 18 carries. Isaiah West had more success with 45 yards on just six carries, so he could get more touches against USC.

The Badgers had only 58 passing yards through quarterback Colton Joseph. But their combination of effective running and stout defense was enough to blow the Trojans out. That will likely be a similar blueprint the Buckeyes will use with a true freshman quarterback in Fahey making his first start.
