Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets are having a rough start to the season, falling to 1-2 after losing to the Golden State Warriors, 134-114, at Ball Arena on Monday.
The Nuggets looked lackluster in the second half, allowing the Warriors to pull away and get their first win of the season.
After the Nuggets came from behind to beat the New Orleans Pelicans in overtime, 141-135, at home on Saturday, Jokic called out their fans for booing.
“They don't need to come anymore,” said Jokic.
Following their loss to the Warriors, the three-time MVP doubled down on his earlier remark.
“I'm sticking to what I said. I played in a much worse environment. I played in front of 10 people, 50 people, 100 people, 10,000 people, 15,000 people, whatever. I'm not used to that, fans booing their own team,” said Jokic in the video posted by Denver Sports 104.3's Jake Shapiro.
“I don't think they are real fans.”
Nikola Jokic offers more of an explanation of his booing quote on Saturday.
“I never heard that (before.)”

He had 19 points, seven rebounds, 11 assists, and three blocks against the Warriors.
Jokic admitted that they have to work on their defense, but added that he is not really concerned since the Nuggets are going through a process.
Denver will have a rematch with the Pelicans on Wednesday.
