The 2026 NFL season has already been filled with plenty of surprises. But as the midpoint of the season draws closer, some of the funkiness of the early season is beginning to even out. Only one NFL team remains undefeated and another winless following Week 7.

Sunday's games did not include headline-grabbing injuries like the past couple of weeks. However, NFL fans should keep an eye on all of these situations as the league's playoff picture will soon start coming into focus.

There are the most important injuries to watch following an exciting Week 7 of NFL action.

Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers have dealt with so many injuries already this season. So when McCaffrey went down, 49ers fans probably started fearing the worst. Fortunately, McCaffrey's injury does not look too serious.

McCaffrey suffered a thigh injury during the first quarter against the Falcons. He left the game briefly, but was able to return in the second half.

CMC explained that his leg “just died on me” and it was difficult to get back on track throughout the rest of the game. Still, McCaffrey declared that he doesn't expect the injury to bother him moving forward.

San Francisco is now on their bye week, so McCaffrey will have extra time to get back to 100%.

Jaylen Waddle, Denver Broncos

The Broncos got cute and it ended up hurting them badly.

Denver dialed up a tricky reverse pitch play for Waddle with just under five minutes left in Sunday's win over Arizona. There was a fumble on the play and Waddle jumped on the ball to prevent a turnover.

Unfortunately, Waddle suffered a chest injury on the play and did not return to the game. Sean Payton took the blame for the awful play call immediately after the victory.

It remains to be seen how severe Waddle's injury really is. Broncos fans should keep their eyes peeled for an injury update on Waddle before Week 8.

Olaivavega Ioane, Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens lost Ioane to a knee injury during Sunday's loss to the Bengals. He did not return to finish the game.

The entire second half was a disaster for Baltimore, as they surrendered 35 unanswered points to Cincinnati in a tough divisional loss. Ioane's injury makes that result even worse.

Ravens fans should keep their eyes on the injury report ahead of Week 8 against the Bills. That could provide clues on the status of QB Lamar Jackson, too.

Taylor Moton, Carolina Panthers

Injuries just keep coming for the Panthers.

Not only did Carolina get absolutely destroyed by Tampa Bay, they also lost yet another offensive tackle. Moton fractured his fibula in Sunday's loss and will be out “a while” per head coach Dave Canales.

The Panthers are already without Ikem Ekwonu and Stone Forsythe at the position. That leaves Rasheed Walker and rookie Monroe Freeling as starters with practically no depth behind them.

Carolina's lack of health on the o-line could be a problem moving forward.

Sean Rhyan, Green Bay Packers

Green Bay suffered even more offensive line injuries in Week 7 against Detroit.

Packers center Sean Rhyan suffered an ankle injury early in Sunday's game and did not return. NFL insider Ian Rapoport reported on Monday that Rhyan's injury is believed to be a high ankle sprain.

“X-Rays were negative, and he has an MRI today. But high-ankle sprains are often 4-6 week injuries,” Rapoport added.

Meanwhile, the Packers lost even more depth after Jacob Monk left the game with a quad injury.

Perhaps Green Bay will need to add even more veteran depth on the o-line after a truly disastrous first half of the season.

Cam Skattebo, New York Giants

Skattebo is officially out of the dog house.

The young running back ripped off 17 carries for 124 rushing yards and a touchdown against a tough Texans defense. But Skattebo appeared to injure himself on his biggest play of the game.

Skattebo reportedly felt something in his hamstring during his 42-yard overtime run that set up Devin Singletary for the walk-off touchdown.

Fortunately, NFL insider Mike Garafolo reported on Monday that “all indications this morning are he should be OK.” The Giants are on their bye in Week 8, so Skattebo will have some extra rehab time as well.

In other Giants injury news, Tyrone Tracy Jr. left Sunday's game with a hamstring injury and did not return.

Rashid Shaheed, Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks got a huge win against the Chiefs on Sunday Night Football. But it came at the cost of losing multiple players to injuries.

Shaheed collided with his teammate Jaxon Smith-Njigba in the end zone towards the end of the first half. He apparently suffered a knee injury and did not return for the second half. Shaheed plays a big role on offense and special teams for Seattle, so losing him for a long stretch would be a tough blow. Hopefully Seattle gives an update on his status on Monday.

In other Seahawks injury news, Charles Cross (ankle) and Velus Jones Jr. (hamstring) also left Sunday's game and did not return.

Aaron Jones, Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings just keep shuffling running backs this season.

Jordan Mason finally returned to action on Sunday following his thumb injury. He returned just in time to take over for Jones, who held down the fort while Mason was injured.

Jones left Sunday's game with a knee injury after ripping off a 17-yard run. He did not return.

ESPN's Kevin Seifert explained that Jones was already playing with a sprained left MCL before that injury. Hopefully Jones did not reaggravate that injury. It would be a shame if Minnesota lost their star running back after their undefeated start to the season.

Other notable injuries from Week 7 include Jets DT T'Vondre Sweat (knee), Saints safety Justin Reid (concussion), Texans WR Jaylin Noel (turf toe), and Lions CB Ennis Rakestraw Jr. (ankle).
