The Baltimore Ravens are 4-4 on the season after falling 36-10 to the Buffalo Bills in Week 8. To make matters worse, the quarterback situation is dire, as Lamar Jackson is potentially out for the remainder of the season, and Tyler Huntley suffered a turf toe injury that is likely to knock him out for several weeks.
With the woes in the quarterback room putting the club in a difficult place, the buzz in the rumor mill suggests the club reached out to the Chicago Bears in trade talks for a quarterback, according to Jason La Canfora of Sports Illustrated. The quarterback at the top of the Ravens' list is believed to be Tyson Bagent.
“The Ravens' top pursuit is Bears backup quarterback Tyson Bagent, according to multiple high-ranking NFL personnel execs,” La Canfora wrote. “They have reached out to Chicago, but are in a desperate position… Multiple league sources told me through the summer that the Bears were rebuffing all overtures for Bagent (who makes $4M this year and $4M next year), who they believe can be a valuable backup in Ben Johnson's system.”
While it's believed that the Bears are in a position where they don't necessarily have to trade Bagent, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network made the connection between the 26-year-old signal caller and Ravens offensive coordinator Declan Doyle. At the very least, the front office realizes that the best potential option might be to add a quarterback already comfortable in Doyle's scheme.

As of now, third-string Joe Fagnano is the only available quarterback on the Ravens' roster. If Baltimore plans to add another quarterback to the room via trade, the front office may want to reach a deal quickly, as the club is scheduled for a Week 9 “Thursday Night Football” matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
