The NFL returns for Week 7 and the playoff race is slowly starting to heat up. We have three undefeated teams through six weeks with the Chiefs leading the AFC and the Vikings and 49ers sitting atop the NFC. The Bills are right behind the Chiefs and the rest of the AFC is pretty tight, with six teams sitting at 4-2. The NFC has a host of two-loss teams, and nearly as many 2-4 teams that are still in the race.

Week 7 opens with a fun Patriots-Bears contest at Soldier Field on Thursday Night Football. Both teams sit at 4-2, and with Caleb Williams back in the lineup, this could be a serious shootout.

Sunday brings a significant AFC North matchup between the 3-2 Bengals and 4-2 Ravens, while the 3-2-1 Giants travel to face the 2-4 Texans in a game both teams need to win for momentum. Sunday wraps with the 3-3 Seahawks hosting the 5-0 Chiefs, and the week concludes with Cowboys-Eagles in a matchup of two teams struggling to find positives this season.

I’m back for another week of picks after finally getting above .500 for the year. I was .500 for the season heading into Week 6 and managed an 8-6 performance. I was 3-2 on high confidence picks, 4-2 on medium level picks, and 1-2 on low confidence picks. It’s a step in the right direction.

Just a reminder that I pick games straight up with winners and losers, but I also provide a confidence level. I’ll pick each game’s winner and slot the picks based on confidence levels — high, medium, low, and no. A game with three asterisks (***) after it indicates a game where I’m picking the betting underdog to get the win. Whether you have to assign confidence points or not, this will help you know where I’m standing with the picks. And within each group, I’ve ordered them based on confidence within the confidence level.

And also, I’m a 49ers fan, so every week you should take that pick with a grain of salt.
