Your tight end can turn a winning fantasy lineup into a Sunday headache before the afternoon games even begin. Week 6 offers a chance to avoid that trap: follow rising receiving opportunities, attack vulnerable coverage and stop letting familiar names make decisions for you.
Here is who to start and sit in Week 6:
Week 6 Start ‘Em

Pat Freiermuth, Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers — Pittsburgh’s injuries are creating an opening, and Freiermuth is capitalizing. He caught five of seven targets for 44 yards and two touchdowns against Indianapolis, producing 21.4 PPR points. He has three touchdowns across his last two games and 19 catches for 169 yards and four scores overall. Michael Pittman Jr. is on injured reserve, while Roman Wilson is also injured. Freiermuth ran 27 routes on 38 dropbacks Sunday. Tampa Bay has surrendered 30 catches, 301 yards and three touchdowns to tight ends. Start him as a touchdown-friendly TE1, although his limited yardage keeps the floor modest.
Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams vs. Arizona Cardinals — Higbee supplied something better than touchdown luck Monday: five receptions and 83 yards, worth 13.3 PPR points without scoring. His last three games have yielded 18 catches, 212 yards and one touchdown. Colby Parkinson’s return did not erase his receiving role, and Terrance Ferguson remains on injured reserve. Arizona has allowed 30 tight end catches, 363 yards and four touchdowns. That combination of recent involvement and vulnerable coverage makes Higbee an appealing streamer. Start him over a bigger name whose weekly value depends entirely on reaching the end zone.
Tucker Kraft, Green Bay Packers vs. Dallas Cowboys — Kraft caught all five targets for 64 yards against Chicago, adding two rushing yards for 11.6 PPR points. He now has 20 receptions, 212 yards and one touchdown through five games. More importantly, he has received at least five targets in three consecutive outings, providing a clearer path to points through receptions. Dallas offers a promising opportunity, but the recommendation does not require predicting a massive breakout. Kraft’s recent involvement supports a starting assignment, especially when the alternative is a touchdown-dependent player with less reliable volume.
Week 6 Sit ‘Em
Article Continues BelowDarren Waller, Carolina Panthers at Philadelphia Eagles — Waller’s season totals look respectable: 13 receptions, 148 yards and two touchdowns in four games. Both scores, however, came against Atlanta in Week 2. His latest appearance produced three catches for 36 yards, just 6.6 PPR points, despite facing a Detroit defense previously vulnerable to tight end touchdowns. Philadelphia has allowed 25 catches, 244 yards and no touchdowns to the position. Waller needs scoring opportunities to lift a limited receiving baseline, and this matchup makes that rescue less attractive. Sit him for Freiermuth or Higbee.
Hunter Henry, New England Patriots vs. New York Jets — Henry scored against Las Vegas, but three catches on four targets are not compelling volume. Rookie Eli Raridon caught five passes for 57 yards in the same game. Henry has 15 receptions, 177 yards and one touchdown through five weeks, without exceeding five targets. The Jets have surrendered only 22 tight end catches, 183 yards and zero touchdowns. Bench him rather than chase last week’s score.
Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns — Andrews has 22 catches for 177 yards and one touchdown. Sunday brought four receptions, 28 yards and a lost fumble: 4.8 PPR points. He also dropped a potential touchdown. Bench him for better upside. He has not exceeded 50 yards yet.
