The Los Angeles Chargers are willing to try anything amid their 0-5 record and Justin Herbert's slump.

The Chargers lost to the Denver Broncos, 23-17, on Sunday, blowing a seven-point lead in the fourth quarter. Herbert went 14-of-24 for 121 yards, a score, and an interception. He was sacked five times. He also had six carries for 54 yards.

Hoping to add another target for the 28-year-old quarterback, Los Angeles worked out Juju Smith-Schuster on Tuesday, according to The Ringer's Tom Pelissero.

The New York Giants signed Smith-Schuster, a one-time Pro Bowler, in June. The Giants, however, released him in August after Najee Harris' arrival.

The 29-year-0ld wide receiver spent the last two years with the Kansas City Chiefs, tallying 51 receptions for 5767 yards and three touchdowns. It was Smith-Schuster's second stint with the Chiefs after playing for them in 2022, winning a ring that season as one of Patrick Mahomes' main weapons.

The Minnesota Vikings worked out Smith-Schuster on Monday.

Herbert has been banged up this season, taking 17 sacks so far. There have been worries about his wear and tear from carrying the Chargers, and having a dependable target could ease some of the load on him.

Despite their awful start, coach Jim Harbaugh has remained defiant, claiming that they have been improving on both ends of the field.

The Chargers will try to end their five-game losing skid in Week 6 against the Chiefs.
