Notre Dame has significant aspirations of winning the National Championship and as they prepare for a challenging road game this week against undefeated Brigham Young, the Fighting Irish are the No. 2 team in the nation and have a 6-0 record.

The Cougars are 5-0 and they are holding down the No. 8 ranking in the latest AP poll. Notre Dame is led by QB C.J. Carr, and he is highly thought of for his work in the college season. He has also moved into top spot of the draft class as far as quarterback prospects are concerned.

According to NFL Draft analyst Todd McShay, Carr will most likely be selected in the top 5 of the 2027 NFL Draft. The Notre Dame quarterback ranks ahead of Trinidad Chambliss of Ole Miss, Darian Mensah of the Miami Hurricanes and Drew Mestemaker of Oklahoma State. Chambliss, Mensah and Mestemaker are all expected to be selected in the top 10 of the draft, according to McShay's ratings.

Carr is off to a very sharp start for head coach Marcus Freeman this season. He has completed 102 of 144 passes for 1,378 yards with an eye-opening 16 touchdown passes. Perhaps even more impressively, Carr has only thrown one interception for the Fighting Irish. Carr has also rushed for 69 yards and 3 touchdowns.
