Zxavian Harris and Dae'Quan Wright intertwined the NFL and LSU football together in a different way. Both rose as the new faces of league rookies trying to resume their college careers. Unfortunately Lane Kiffin and the Tigers moved on from both, and so has the NFL.
NFL insider for The Ringer and Netflix Tom Peliserro released a memo Wednesday revealing the league's stance on both. This now becomes the final ruling involved for the former Ole Miss football players. So now both must wait until after the 2026 season to resume their football careers.
The NFL sent a memo to teams informing them that Dae'Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris are ineligible to visit, try out, or sign with them this season, per @TomPelissero.

Wright and Harris played for Kiffin in Oxford during the Rebels' College Football Playoff run. Then starred for Pete Golding during the postseason, with Ole Miss advancing into the semifinal round after Kiffin accepted the LSU job.
But both helped launch a stunning brief trend involving college football and the NFL. Thanks to a NCAA fifth-year eligibility ruling involving 2022 high school graduates, Wright and Harris tried to jump back into the CFB world. Both became granted an injunction by a Louisiana judge to return to college and play football. Yet the SEC attempted to intervene by sending out severe punishments for LSU if both played a down this season.
Ultimately the former Kiffin players got left off the roster. LSU has since started the season 2-0 in 2026. But Kiffin now has a high-profile reunion on deck for Saturday: LSU takes on Ole Miss in Oxford. Which becomes Kiffin's first appearance at his last college home since his abrupt exit. Tensions are high ahead of this matchup, including the game featuring a heavy police presence.
