The Brooklyn Nets are drawing rave reviews for their latest uniform choice. As part of the NBA's collaboration with Nike, each team releases a classic-edition uniform every season. The Nets unveiled their 2026-27 classic edition on Monday, paying homage to the team's ABA days.

The 2026-27 campaign will mark the Nets' 60th season. Throughout the year, the team will honor its history with “Eras Nights,” a six-game series bringing defining chapters of Nets history to life through era-inspired entertainment, alumni appearances, in-arena activations and giveaways.
“We are thrilled to welcome Brooklyn Nets fans back to Barclays Center as we begin our 60th season,” said Becky Kimbro, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment. “The Classic Edition uniform and special-edition court give fans a new way to experience the history of this franchise. This anniversary is an opportunity to celebrate every era of Nets basketball and the people who have shaped the franchise. From our ABA roots to the generations of players who have worn a Nets jersey, these elements honor where we have been while continuing to write the next chapter of Nets basketball in Brooklyn.”
The Nets' new throwback uniform is the same jersey they wore from 1968 to 1972. Rick Barry was the team's most notable player during that period.
Barry averaged 30.6 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game across two seasons with the Nets. He holds the top two spots on the team's single-season scoring record list, averaging 31.5 points per game in 1971-72 and 29.4 in 1970-71.
The Nets have worn several throwback uniforms since moving to Brooklyn in 2012.

Egor Demin likes the Nets' newest threads.
“Man, I can't lie to you, that's my favorite jersey ever,” he said in the team's video releasing the uniform.

The Nets will wear their classic edition uniform 16 times this year. They'll debut the jersey and a new court design during their regular-season opener vs. the Charlotte Hornets on Oct. 21 at Barclays Center.
Following back-to-back tanking seasons, Brooklyn will look to take a step forward this year without control of its 2027 draft pick. The Nets acquired three-time All-Star Julius Randle from the Minnesota Timberwolves this summer to aid that pursuit. They also signed veteran guard Keon Ellis and center Moe Wagner to two-year deals in free agency.
The Nets' most notable move for the future was selecting Louisville point guard Mikel Brown Jr. with the No. 6 pick in June's draft. Brown represents the team's highest draft pick of the Brooklyn era, supplanting Demin, who went No. 8 in 2025. Together, Brown and Demin will form the team's backcourt of the future.
After a standout summer league performance, Demin has shown significant growth during Brooklyn's preseason action. Meanwhile, Brown has missed the Nets' first three preseason games with an ankle sprain but is expected to debut on Wednesday vs. the Miami Heat.
Despite their Randle acquisition and other offseason moves, the Nets aren't expected to make wholesale improvements this season. Brooklyn's over/under win total is set at 24.5, the NBA's second-lowest mark, ahead of only the Sacramento Kings (20.5), per FanDuel Sportsbook.
