Upon signing with the Philadelphia 76ers, LeBron James announced he'll be living in both Philadelphia and New York throughout the regular season and will use a helicopter to commute to and from home games. However, NBA owners for the other 31 teams appear to have an issue with it, as the helicopter he is using has a Fanatics logo on it.
Pablo Torre, who has become a well-known reporter for digging up information on his “Pablo Torre Finds Out” podcast (like the Clippers allegedly circumnavigating the cap to pay Kawhi Leonard), claimed that numerous team owners have reached out to him to look into James' Fanatics-branded helicopter. Other organizations allegedly feel the 41-year-old forward is getting some kind of extra privilege from the 76ers and Fanatics.
“It's something that I also have been watching,” Torre said. “Of course. I know the Fanatics logo. I saw that… We're also getting tips from NBA owners, who are like, sending me your story, being like, ‘What is this?' Because now I'm the guy who seems to be a lever on something like accountability. Even among billionaires, which is a fun plot twist.”

The 24-year veteran signed a multi-year sponsorship deal with Fanatics in 2024. It's been previously reported that part of the deal LeBron James signed gives him access to using the company's corporate helicopter. Although that is allegedly part of the contract with Fanatics, NBA owners appear to still have an issue with it.
For now, we'll have to wait and see if Torre finds anything that may be a red flag in the situation. Until then, James and the 76ers will continue preparing for the 2026-27 season. The Sixers are scheduled to begin the new campaign with a road game against the New York Knicks on October 20.
