Toss India chose to field vs West Indies
Auqib Nabi made his international debut as India won the toss and elected to bowl in Guwahati in the second ODI against West Indies.
It was a change intended to give India more of a bowler than a batting allrounder in Nitish Kumar Reddy, who was able to bowl only five overs in the first ODI. Nabi looked set to take the new ball with Prasidh Krishna as India tend to look for swing early doors.
While that was the only change India made, West Indies rung in four, one of them forced as the centurion in the last match, Justin Greaves, was ruled out of the series with the calf injury he batted with in Thiruvananthapuram.
Sherfane Rutherford, who missed the last match for personal reasons, was back in the middle order. At the top, Keacy Carty moved one slot up to open with John Campbell. Allrounder Keemo Paul replaced Jewel Andrew in the lower-middle order.
However, it was in the attack that West Indies made significant changes. Shamar Joseph replaced the medium pace of Matthew Forde, and left-arm wristspinner Vitel Lawes edged out fingerspinner Gudakesh Motie.
