Morgan State pulled off another huge out-of-conference win that will certainly boost their confidence heading into conference play. After beating Villanova last week, they faced a formidable Robert Morris team that had staged a comeback against Michael Vick and Norfolk State to win their homecoming matchup, 33-31, last Saturday. Morgan State, which has been putting together an impressive record of its own, looked to cap off its homecoming with a huge win, and it didn't disappoint. They won the matchup 28-27.

Robert Morris moved the ball through the air, with 376 of their 437 total yards coming through the air from Carson Haggard. He threw for three touchdowns and no interceptions, averaging 12.5 yards per pass. The strong passing game helped Robert Morris gain early control, leading 14-3 at the end of the second quarter.

But ultimately, Morgan State put together a dominant third quarter where they scored 18 points, on a Gavin Fetty field goal, a Cameron Edge 56-yard passing touchdown to Joseph Towler, and a 45-yard touchdown run by Keith Jenkins Jr. Jenkins was a key player for Morgan State, helping them put together drives that could ultimately put them in the realm of scoring opportunities, as he finished the game with 13 carries for 98 yards and two touchdowns.

But winning wouldn't be easy: Haggard found Eyasu Palmore for a 9-yard touchdown reception that put them up 27-21, but Morgan State's special teams blocked the PAT. That opened the door for the Bears, and they ultimately scored the game-winning touchdown: a rushing touchdown by Jenkins Jr. at the Robert Morris one-yard line with 24 seconds left.

Robert Morris had the chance to put themselves in field goal range and seal the game, but on the final play, Haggard was sacked and lost the ball, and Jordan Judy recovered it. Morgan State finished homecoming with a decisive victory. That leaves them with one final out-of-conference matchup against Tennessee State before starting a tough in-conference slate that includes an improved Howard University team under Ted White and a potential game-of-the-year candidate in South Carolina State.
