The Los Angeles Dodgers recently clinched the NL West division with a blowout road win over the Cincinnati Reds by a score of 8-2. The win avenged the Dodgers' defeat at the hands of the Reds on Wednesday night and gave Los Angeles its 13th division title in the last 14 years.

After the game, Dodgers star and former league MVP Mookie Betts shared a special message with Los Angeles fans amid the team's locker room celebration.

“Thank you for sticking with me. I know it was hard. I make it hard sometimes, but thank you for sticking by my side, by our side. We've got something special coming,” he said, per SportsNet LA on X, formerly Twitter.

Betts has had a somewhat up and down year this season for the Dodgers, dealing with injuries and inconsistent play at times, but he has managed to right the ship just in time for the team's upcoming playoff push, which is slated to get underway in just a couple of weeks.

Dodgers fans have plenty of reason to stick by the team even in relatively tough times, as Los Angeles has won the last two World Series championships and is looking to add a third straight–and fourth in the last seven years–this fall.

All of the winning has generated controversy as to whether the Dodgers have unfairly stacked the deck in their favor due to the league's lack of a salary cap, which some believe could lead to a prolonged lockout prior to the 2027 season.

However, for now, the Dodgers have all of their attention on claiming another World Series ring after wrapping up the NL West division.
