The Missouri football team suffered a tough defeat on Saturday to Texas. Missouri was defeated, 34-20. Tigers head coach Eli Drinkwitz wasn't happy after the game.
“If I say what I want to say, I’m going to get fined until I don’t have any retirement, and I’m not going to do that. I’m not going to blame the officials. That would be disrespectful to Coach Sarkisian and his team,” Drinkwitz said, per On3.
Missouri dropped to 6-3 on the season. The Tigers finished the game allowing 401 total yards of offense to the Longhorns.
The Tigers struggled to move the chains. Missouri finished the game going just 3-for-16 on third-down conversions. The team also couldn't take advantage when Texas made mistakes.
“I could hear the talk getting on the plane yesterday. I could hear the talk when we got here. Nobody believed we'd win the game,” Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian said, per ESPN. “Nobody thought we were going to come here and win the game. Nobody thought we were tough enough at the line of scrimmage.”
Texas improved to 7-2 on the year.
There were some questionable calls during Missouri-Texas game
At least one college football analyst feels Drinkwitz's pain. That is Jesse Palmer from ESPN. Palmer felt that a play that was called a fumble on Texas should have instead been ruled an incomplete pass.
Because the play was ruled a fumble, Texas was actually able to gain yards on the play. The ball moved downfield.

Missouri's loss effectively ends their chances at making the College Football Playoff this season. The Tigers are now 3-3 in SEC play. The team's losses this season are to Texas, Ole Miss and Mississippi State.
Missouri next plays Georgia on Saturday.
