The Chiefs have lost two games in a row. The best tonic could be facing a team with a losing record.

Via NBC Sports research, the Chiefs have won 12 games in a row against teams entering the contest with a losing record, with Patrick Mahomes at quarterback. The last loss with Mahomes under center against a below-.500 team came against the Raiders on Christmas Day in 2023.

The Chiefs responded to that 20-14 defeat by not losing again, capped by a Super Bowl LVIII victory over the 49ers.

On Sunday, the 2-6 Jets come to town. They’re 5-20 under second-year coach Aaron Glenn. That’s the second-worst record in the league since the start of the 2025 season, behind only the 4-21 Titans.

One key for the Chiefs will be reigniting the running game behind running back Kenneth Walker III. After averaging 133 rushing yards per game (and 6.3 yards per carry) through five straight wins, Walker is down to 52.5 yards per game (and 3.0 yards per carry) in two straight losses.
