Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski said before Wednesday’s practice that quarterback Michael Penix would participate, but that he would “be limited in some fashion” due to his injured ribs.
The Falcons’ injury report tells a different story. Penix was listed as a full participant in the team’s first practice ahead of their Week 6 game against the Bears.
Penix was injured late in the fourth quarter of last Sunday’s overtime loss to the Ravens. Stefanski said he will start this week as long as he’s healthy enough to play and Wednesday’s practice suggests that will be the case.
Left tackle Jake Matthews (groin) was also listed as a full participant. Linebacker Divine Deablo (hamstring) and defensive end Za’Darius Smith (concussion, neck) were both limited while cornerback C.J. Henderson (groin) was the only player to miss practice.
