There are two certainties in life. Michael Irvin is gong to show passionate fandom and unbreakable loyalty to his former team, the Dallas Cowboys, and Stephen A. Smith will rejoice when that very team struggles. During Sunday Night Football, the latter happened, as the Cowboys lost to the New York Giants by a score of 28-20.
Despite that, the former Cowboys receiver still believes in his old team. On First Take, Irvin went as far as comparing the Cowboys to the legendary big three of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh that the Miami Heat once sported.
âÂÂI've seen greatness come together in Miami,â Irvin started. âÂÂIt was LeBron, Chris Bosh, and Dwyane Wade. It took time for them to get together and get it right. And so now, all of a sudden, these guys the first game, you can't give them no time to get it right?âÂÂ

Irvin's big three comparison is in reference to Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and George Pickens. While that offensive trio is very talented, they are nowhere near the level of the Heat's big three. Plus, it isn't like that Cowboys trio wasn't together last year, and they still fell short of a postseason berth.ÃÂ Smith was quick to step in and interject.
âÂÂYou don't need to be comparing anybody to champions when it comes to the Cowboys,â Smith said⦠âÂÂYou need to shut your mouth and stop bringing up the past!âÂÂ

Irvin is so confident in his former team that he was even willing to put one of his prized possessions on the line. Irvin promised that if the Cowboys don't make the NFC Championship Game, he will cut off his locs.
âÂÂIf [the Dallas Cowboys] donâÂÂt get to an [NFC] championship game, I will give up my locs!âÂÂ@michaelirvin88 makes a bet with @stephenasmith on LIVE television surrounding the Dallas Cowboys' success 𤯠pic.twitter.com/ZLEHWfeePf

After getting his bias out of the way, Irvin did take a more logical view at the Cowboys first game of the season by asking âÂÂWhat they hell was that?â in regards to their performance against the Giants.
