The New York Mets have some encouraging news regarding Jared Young, who was carted off the field in a stretcher after taking a knee in the head from pitcher Nolan McLean during Thursday's home game versus the Philadelphia Phillies. Thankfully, the CT scan came back negative, per MLB.com's Anthony DiComo.

“He's still exhibiting concussion symptoms, but ‘he is showing really good signs right now,' per {interim manager} Andy Green,” DiComo reported on X following a 3-0 loss to Philly. “The Mets are optimistic Young has avoided the worst outcomes.”

The first baseman and starting pitcher were both attempting to field a ground ball hit by Justin Crawford when the collision occurred in the sixth inning. There was cause for immediate concern, as Young lie face down before receiving medical assistance. He eventually gave a thumbs up, giving fans an iota of relief.

This man has done his best to provide a ray of light amid a brutal campaign, and now he could use some support during this health ordeal.

But the fan discontent does not dismiss what Young has accomplished in Queens this season.

The 31-year-old has valiantly filled in for the injured Jorge Polanco at first, posting a .266 batting average and .759 OPS with nine home runs and 39 RBIs through 103 games played. It is unclear of he will have the opportunity to tack on to his impressive season, but above all, hopefully he is just doing alright.
