Dallas Mavericks forward Cooper Flagg is expected to take a huge step in his sophomore season after turning heads during his rookie year.

Flagg has always displayed the maturity of an experienced player, even when he was at Duke, and with one year in the NBA under his belt, the do-it-all upstart should only become an even more formidable threat.

The Mavericks split their two meetings with the Houston Rockets in the preseason in China. While Flagg only played sparingly, he still dazzled with totals of 33 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists, three steals, and two blocks.

He acknowledged that he is still learning, but he is getting more comfortable.

“I felt at points last year that I was going in blind a little bit. Obviously, I hadn't been through a lot of those experiences before. So I think just having that this year is a big help. Just feeling prepared, feeling ready. There's a lot less to worry about,” said Flagg in a report from ESPN's Brian Windhorst.

That should be scary for the rest of the league. Not to mention, he is only 19 years old.

Despite his age, Flagg is also trying to assert himself more in the locker room.

“I'm just finding my voice. Being so young and a little bit inexperienced is tough sometimes, but I think up to this point, I've earned the respect of my teammates, and I've gotten that sense that they really respect me and my opinion,” said the reigning Rookie of the Year.

With his head in the right place, plus the guidance of Mavericks veterans Kyrie Irving, PJ Washington, Naji Marshall, and Dwight Powell, Flagg is well on his way to collecting more milestones in the upcoming season—all for everyone to see.
