And they've made contrasting starts to the Premier League season, with Man United only winning one of their opening four games and Brighton in the top four.
United suffered a controversial home Manchester derby defeat to Manchester City on Sunday, while Brighton thumped Coventry 5-0 on the road.

Rotation is inevitable with this tie coming between Premier League fixtures for both teams.
United boss Michael Carrick could call upon the likes of Benjamin Sesko, who scored on his first start of the season in last week's Champions League win over Sabah
Andrey Santos hasn't started since the opening weekend of the campaign so will likely come in too.
Luke Shaw missed the Manchester derby and may not feature, while Wednesday likely comes too soon for Carlos Baleba to make his United debut after joining from Brighton last month.
As for the Seagulls, Fabian Hurzeler may use the game to give summer signings such as Promise David and Ibrahim Osman more minutes.
However, Hurzeler has less room for manoeuvre in terms of shaking things up â they have a lengthy injury list including the likes of Kaoru Mitoma and Mats Wieffer.

Speaking after Sunday's painful defeat, Carrick insisted there was no need for United to rip things up and start again.
"We don't need a break or a restart," he said. "We've just got to move on and start winning again."
Hurzeler, meanwhile, is staying grounded despite Brighton's emphatic victory last time out.
"We will always be the team who are very humble and don't take things for granted," he said.
The draw for the fourth round of the Carabao Cup will be made after Wednesday's game.
