Macklemore turned his sudden exit from Ed Sheeran’s Loop Tour into a seven-figure humanitarian pledge and a public challenge aimed at New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft.

The rapper announced Wednesday that he will give the full $1 million in net income he earned as a tour opener to six groups assisting Palestinians, Variety reports. He named Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, Heal Palestine, Gaza Soup Kitchen, Medical Aid for Palestinians, UNRWA USA National Committee and Anera as recipients.

He then called on Kraft to contribute the same amount.

“Whatever we disagree about, perhaps we can agree on this: Palestinian lives are worth protecting,” Macklemore wrote. “A Palestinian life is no less valuable than any other life on this earth.”

Macklemore is donating his entire $1 million salary from Ed Sheeran's tour to organizations supporting Palestine and is inviting Robert Kraft, who blocked him from performing at Gillette Stadium, to match the donation.

Macklemore Redirects Attention After Tour Removal

His removal from the tour followed an early-September appearance at MetLife Stadium, where he said “free Palestine” and addressed the crowd about the conflict. The artist subsequently accused Kraft of encouraging fellow venue owners to prevent him from appearing at their stadiums.

Macklemore used his newest statement to shift the discussion away from his professional consequences. He highlighted Palestinian families, medical professionals, reporters and humanitarian workers who continue operating under dangerous conditions. He also argued that their personal risks far exceed his own.

Sheeran said Tuesday that he played no role in removing Macklemore and prefers neutrality regarding political issues. The tour’s remaining opening performers, Finneas, Aaron Rowe, Lukas Graham and Beoga, later withdrew in solidarity with Macklemore and Palestinians.

Macklemore closed by urging supporters to maintain their attention even after public interest fades. His donation now gives Kraft a direct choice: match the rapper’s $1 million contribution or leave the challenge unanswered.
