While the Minnesota Lynx (31-9) try to hold off the Golden State Valkyries (29-11) and clinch the No. 1 seed for the 2026 WNBA playoffs, their marketing department is focused on making a strong MVP push for Olivia Miles. The sensational guard might as well already have the Rookie of the Year Award on her trophy case, but she could add to her magnificent season by dethroning Las Vegas Aces superstar forward A'ja Wilson.

Although odds appear slim, the Lynx are doing their part to promote Miles on social media. Their “Welcome to the Show” campaign features a video package that highlights some of the 23-year-old's history-making heroics, per women's basketball insider Khristina Williams.

Minnesota believed in its roster, but the idea of posting the best record in the W without franchise pillar Napheesa Collier was unfathomable. Olivia Miles quickly ascended into stardom and is the biggest reason the Lynx are positioned to have home-court advantage this postseason. She is scoring 19.7 points per game while shooting 49.5 percent from the field and 39.6 percent from behind the 3-point line. The No. 2 overall pick is also averaging 6.0 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 1.3 steals.

Few rookies could seamlessly step in for the two-time reigning MVP runner-up and then maintain a prominent role when that player returns. Olivia Miles is a special talent and deserves serious consideration when the ballots are cast.

Even if she does not overtake Wilson for MVP, No. 5 can still make this a year for the record books by helping Minnesota unseat the Aces for the WNBA championship. A Finals MVP Award would tell quite a powerful story.
