Coach Dan Campbell's Detroit Lions took the field in Arizona to take on the Cardinals in Week 5 action, securing a 45-21 win amid a tough news injury to a starting linebacker. Campbell shouted out Bears legend Mike Ditka with a memorable story while also coaching his own living legend, QB Jared Goff.

Goff has yet to win a Super Bowl, but his statistical accomplishments keep piling up. He joined Russell Wilson in an exclusive club with his latest performance according to the Lions' PR account.

“The only players in NFL history to throw for 12-plus touchdowns and zero interceptions through the first five games of any season: 1. Lions QB Jared Goff, 2. Russell Wilson (2019).”

Goff has been in the news lately as Campbell defended him against a Ben Johnson dig. The former Los Angeles Rams and California Golden Bears star has impressed under new offensive coordinator Drew Petzing so far this season, including on Week 5's road trip against the Cardinals. Goff completed 19-of-30 passes for 271 yards and three touchdowns, helping to overcome a 7-0 early Arizona lead with focused calls at the line-of-scrimmage and smooth, on-target passing skills.

It was also a record-setting day for running back Jahmyr Gibbs as he passed Lions legend Barry Sanders with his 57th and 58th career touchdowns, most all-time among NFL players before the age of 25.

The Lions' offense looks sensational ahead of its bye week, and the defense has a chance to get better with Brian Branch back at practice. At 3-2, the Lions are far from world-beaters, but they are starting to remember what it felt like to be among the NFL's elite as the season wears on.
