The honeymoon phase in the Motor City appears officially over. The Detroit Lions stumbled into halftime of Thursday Night Football trailing the Buffalo Bills 27-10, and social media quickly exploded with outrage. What was supposed to be a tight primetime battle turned into a first-half nightmare for head coach Dan Campbell, as Detroit looked completely outmatched on both sides of the ball.
Bills quarterback Josh Allen dismantled the Detroit secondary throughout the opening two quarters, carving up coverage for multiple scoring drives and keeping the defense completely gassed. Meanwhile, the Detroit offense under new offensive coordinator Drew Petzing struggled to generate any rhythm. Lions quarterback Jared Goff found little breathing room against a relentless Buffalo pass rush, leaving running back Jahmyr Gibbs as the sole productive weapon on an otherwise sluggish night.
