The Los Angeles Lakers made a lot of changes over the offseason, but they should still be one of the better teams in the Western Conference with the help of Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves. That might not be enough for some people to think they'll be competitive this season, including players in the league.
Norman Powell of the Chicago Bulls was recently on a livestream with Neon, and he was asked who was the most overrated team in the NBA.
âÂÂI'm gonna say the Lakers,â Powell said.

It's uncertain if Powell meant this season alone or in general, but the Lakers may get that title in both situations. Over the past few years, the Lakers have actually been able to reach most of their expectations as a team, but unfortunately it hasn't got them close to winning a championship.
Now, with LeBron James gone, all eyes will officially be on Doncic to see if he can lead them to the promised land. It's safe to say they believe he can do so, because most of the moves they've made since trading for him two seasons ago have catered to his play style.
This offseason, they went all in on getting Doncic what he needed, which is trading for a solid center in Walker Kessler. Outside of Kessler, the Lakers signed Collin Sexton, Quentin Grimes, Matisse Thybulle, Kevon Looney, Sandro Mamukelashvili and Ziaire Williams. Those are good players to add to the roster they already had, and the hope is that they can all mesh together.
They've already worked on building that chemistry ahead of the season, as Doncic hosted a bonding trip to Slovenia where they did things such as golf, dinner, bike racing and other things. With training camp around the corner, they should already be really familiar with each other on and off the court.
