On Sunday, the San Francisco 49ers improved to 4-0 with a narrow home win over the Denver Broncos. This game was an ugly defensive battle throughout most of the afternoon, but ultimately, the 49ers were able to pull away late and win by a final score of 24-14.
Unfortunately, the team didn't make it through this one unscathed from an injury perspective, as fullback Kyle Juszczyk went down with an injury and did not return.
On Monday, the team got the latest update on the fullback's status moving forward.
“Initial tests showed that 49ers offensive weapon Kyle Juszczyk hyperextended his knee and could miss ‘a couple of weeks', per source. But he will undergo an MRI today to confirm if the initial tests are accurate,” reported NFL insider Adam Schefter of ESPN on X, formerly Twitter.
Article Continues BelowJuszczyk is indeed a key weapon for the 49ers' offense, with the team relying on the fullback position more heavily than most teams in the NFL do in 2026.
Meanwhile, the 49ers seem built to sustain any and every bit of adversity that comes there way, as the team currently sits at 4-0 and has looked mostly dominant in all of their wins, although they have yet to play a true road game so far this season.
That will change next week with a marquee divisional matchup on the road against the reigning Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks. Kickoff for that contest is set for 4:25 pm ET from Seattle, seemingly with Juszczyk out of the lineup due to the injury.
